Findhelp Glossary
You can use this article to help you navigate the roles and terms used across the Findhelp platform.
Roles Within Findhelp
Seeker | A person seeking services. Depending on the industry, a seeker could be referred to as a client, patient, customer, member, student, constituent, etc.
Community-Based Organization (CBO) | CBOs provide the majority of the free or reduced-cost services and programs that are listed on our platform (includes faith-based organizations and nonprofits).
Navigator | A person who helps someone find and connect to resources. This could be a friend, family member, patient navigator, social worker, case manager, etc.
Site Administrator | This is a special role within your organization. A Site Administrator has extra permissions, like being able to add new users, highlight programs, and customize your site's appearance.
Platform Features
Seeker Profile | This is a shared care record where you'll find key information about the person you're assisting. It includes their basic details, their goals, and a history of the referrals you've made for them. Only you and others in your shared group can see this record.
Program Card | A resource on your site that houses all of the program specific information that is important to help a seeker get access to that resource or service.
Connect Button | The button on a program card that connects a navigator or seeker with the organization providing the service. This button starts the referral process.
Program Types Within Findhelp
Listed Program | Any program that serves the United States and its territories and offers free or reduced-cost direct social services is listed on the Findhelp platform. These listed programs are verified by members of our Network Curation team.
Claimed Program | After a program has been listed on Findhelp, a CBO can take ownership and control of the listing by accepting our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Programs that “claim” their listing gain access to a free suite of software tools used for intake management, outcome documentation, and reporting. The CBO can update their programs’ listed information, assign additional users to their team, and select their preferred method of receiving referrals, among other features.
Staff at claimed programs receive training on these Findhelp case management tools. Claimed programs have flexibility to respond to referrals, including via encrypted email, within the Findhelp platform, or within their own system of record through an integration with Findhelp.
Featured Program | Customers are in control of featuring programs on their branded Findhelp platform; featuring adds a customer-defined tag to programs and they appear at the top of relevant search results. Some examples include internal customer-owned programs, value-added benefits, and trusted organization programs. Featuring programs allows the customer to choose how they present important or preferred programs to their staff and end users.
Networks Within Findhelp
Findhelp’s Open Network | All free and reduced-cost social service programs listed on the Findhelp platform, viewable by all users.
Trusted Network CBO | Findhelp regularly collaborates with our customers to create and define Trusted and Contracted Networks of CBOs and retail partners. A trusted organization participates in one of these partnerships and has established a deeper, trusted relationship with Findhelp and the customer often related to closed-loop documentation and participation incentives. Trusted CBOs are engaged in providing services for the customer; sometimes, these relationships are formalized by signed contracts, memorandums, and/or state reimbursement programming.
Customer-Defined Network | Findhelp’s customers are in control of defining which programs are in-network for their workflows, reporting, and training. For example, a health system may only consider their internally-owned programs as in-network, whereas a payer may consider every program that they financially incentivize as in-network, and other customers may treat every claimed program as in-network.
